As an experienced doula, I am always awed and inspired by the women I serve. I believe in the power of women to birth their babies safely and with love! I know that every woman is strong, powerful and instinctively capable of having a positive birth experience. I also know that birth is hard work, and we as women deserve continuous support and respect for our individual needs and desires. I am honored to share the power and joy of birth, while supporting women and their families on this life changing journey.

I am a certified birth doula, birth mentor and lactation educator. Most importantly, I am a mother of three amazing kids. I have two beautiful girls, eleven and four. I gave birth to my son on September 30th of 2007. My girls were both born in hospitals with Certified Nurse Midwives, and my son was born in the water at home.

I began doing birth work after the birth of my second baby in 2005. My own experience with birth, breastfeeding and parenting, as well as my passion for working with and empowering women are what inspire me everyday.

I welcome the opportunity to work with women from all types of diverse backgrounds. I have supported many types of families in a variety of situations including single mothers, GLBT families, inductions, cesarean birth, abuse survivors, unexpected medical outcomes, high-risk, and medication-free births. I bring my love and commitment for my own family into the lives of every family I serve.

I am an activist and a feminist and am committed to working to make America’s maternity healthcare system truly mother and baby friendly through education, advocacy and activism. I am most proud of the work I have done as a co-organizer for BOLD, Birth On Labor Day. BOLD is a grassroots group that uses the Arts to celebrate women-centered birth, honor diversity, and create space for a woman to make empowered choices about her birth experience.

I am a DONA International certified Birth Doula and a Childbirth and Lactation Educator. I am also working toward certification as a Birthing From Within Mentor and Doula. I am a student midwife as well. I am a member of DONA International, The Colorado Doula Association, Colorado Midwives Association and Coalition To Improve Maternity Services (CIMS).
