Birth Doula, Childbirth Educator
I love being a doula! I have had three diverse birth experiences that were 'just right' for me, and been to more than 50 births with clients who had births that were 'just right' for them. I strongly believe in women and their babies, and know that they are wise and in control of the birth process. I like to help make transitions easier, whether that's the transition to motherhood, the transition to pushing, the transition from hospital to home, or any of the other big moves we make when becoming parents. I work well with pets, family members, mothers' partners, and siblings. I love working with a culturally and socially diverse group of people, and I am excited and passionate about new experiences. I have experience attending births at home, in the hospital, with midwives, family physicians, and obstetricians. I've been working with families as a doula, breastfeeding supporter, and postpartum resource since my oldest son's birth in 2000. I have been a childbirth educator since 2004. I am a student midwife, politically active in many ways; I am a self-described feminist and flaming liberal. I believe every birth is revolutionary and momentous!
