Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula, Family Consultant

Becoming a mother has been the most rewarding and life changing event of my life. It has further focused my career and work with families and provided me with invaluable insight into what becoming a parent really means. In addition to the experience and expertise that motherhood has provided, I hold many degrees and certifications. I earned my Master's Degree in Educational Psychology (with an emphasis in human behavior and development; adult learning, parent/child attachment and counseling) from the University of Colorado, Denver. I hold certifications (CAPPA) as a Labor Doula, Postpartum Doula and Lactation Educator. I am also dually certified (AMS, NAMC) as a Montessori teacher for birth through six years of age. My work with children and families has spanned most of my life and is my passion and calling. I provide doula support, parent education, family consulting services (in-home parenting consultations) and breastfeeding education and support.

My Mission

My mission is to help families bring harmony into their home and to empower parents to follow their instincts. I strongly believe that parents are the experts on their children and that with the right support every family can start out with a strong foundation. I am passionate about guiding, educating and supporting families and feel called to the work that I do. I am a former educator and discovered a need for non-judgmental support and education among parents and families. I have found that I can best serve families in this capacity and I am committed to providing every family with the kind of nurturing and assistance that they deserve.

As Your Birth Doula

As a Birth Doula, I believe that birth is a natural, normal and sacred process. I believe that each woman is entitled to make her own choices regarding what she feels is best for her and her baby. All choices are valid and important. I am committed to supporting families in a compassionate, non judgmental manner no matter what choices they make regarding their birth. Informing families of all of their choices regarding birth is important to me. I believe that a family has the right to be informed and then use that information to make choices that are best for them. I am dedicated to supporting not only the mother, but her partner as well. I do not take the place of your partner but rather assist the couple throughout the entire birth experience. Birth is a miraculous event that should be honored and cherished. It is honor and privilege to support families during this life changing time.

As Your Postpartum Doula

As a Postpartum Doula, I provide encouragement, support, guidance and respect as you adjust to your growing family. The need for support during this time is critical. My care is individualized and based on your family's circumstances, needs and preferences. My goal is to empower you as parents and help you to make a smooth and confident transition into your new family and life! It is such a wonderful privilege to be able to support and nurture you during this most precious time in your life. Every family is individual and unique and should be respected as such. Children are precious individuals and deserve our very best. Parenting is the most important job that we have. I believe that it takes a village to raise a child and that parents should feel empowered and encouraged to reach out for support when they need it. I am thrilled to be able to offer that support to families!
