We are so pleased that you have taken a moment to learn more about the options available to your family for your upcoming birth! We are a birth doula team, working together in harmony to support you and your growing family.

We truly believe that when a woman knows how to deeply relax & has strong support, she can handle the strongest contraction: one at a time. You do not need to have a higher than normal pain tolerance to have a natural birth, but instead can learn how to relax and how to work with your body. Learning about the normal process of labor and birth, we will help you to understand the changes that take place in your body as labor progresses. We have confidence and trust that a woman's body can birth a baby without intervention. We also support families who after being educated on all types of care available, ultimately decide that they prefer a medicated or augmented labor or birth. Our job is to keep you informed and educated throughout pregnancy, labor and birth so that you are confident that all decisions that you make are the best choices for YOUR family. We stand behind our clients, with non-judgmental support of informed decisions that they make regarding their labor, birth and care of their newborn.
 
Your prenatal visits are completed in the comfort of your own home, where we discuss your birth plans and options in depth. We love to hear about the experiences that you have had and what you envision for this birth! We fully cover the activities of labor and birth, how doulas work with your family, and breastfeeding counseling.

Our birth doula team offers the professional support and experience of 2 doulas…

With our team oriented services, you may rest assured knowing that you and your loved ones will have continuous, well-rested support throughout your labor and delivery. We offer the premium service and knowledge of two professionals throughout your care, each with specialties and experiences to share!

• Professional affiliation with DONA International
• Certified Lactation Counselors through the ALPP
• Independent Childbirth Educators
• Experience with: VBAC, water birth, hypno-birth, epidurals, scheduled medicated and non-medicated births, prolonged labor, precipitous labor, cesarean birth, and more!
• Trained in using TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) for effective labor pain relief. This provides another option for pain relief in labor that is not a medication.

Our doula services include:

• A complimentary interview with both members of our team
• Two prenatal visits including childbirth education, breastfeeding education, and cloth diapering classes!
• Assistance in writing a birth-day wish list and prepare you to discuss your choices with your care provider and ask informed questions.
• Email and phone support throughout your pregnancy: 24/7
• Access to our lending library for birth, nutrition, and lactation resources.
• On call 2 weeks prior to your due date until the birth of your baby.
• Constant labor support starting at home (if you choose) and then at your birth place, including the use of our TENS unit.
• Assistance with breastfeeding initiation and postpartum support until you and your family are settled and wanting quiet family time.
• Two additional postpartum visits to evaluate the well-being of the family, provide resources for the first weeks at home, and to support the breastfeeding relationship with Certified Lactation Counseling services. Ongoing lactation support available.
