I became passionate about pregnancy and birth while preparing for the birth of my son. I just couldn't get enough of reading birth stories, and learning about pregnancy and birth. My husband and I decided to explore a hypnosis program as our method of childbirth education but we were disappointed to find that there were no group classes being taught in Denver at the time. We ordered the home-study course and quickly fell in love with the relaxing hypnosis. I was also so grateful for the incredible amounts of information provided to us: nutrition, exercises, birthing options, and a whole section that was just for my husband, which he really appreciated. Soon I realized that I wanted this new found love to be more than just my passion, I wanted it to become my profession. I wanted to share this knowledge that I had found and help other women have enlightening and empowering experiences for each and every birth, no matter what those births look like. I'm now a certified hypnosis for childbirth instructor and hypno-doula and a CAPPA trained labor doula and lactation educator and I absolutely *love* teaching and attending births! My doula services include:
• An initial free meeting. During our first meeting together we will take some time to get to know each other and talk your hopes and plans for your birth.
• Two prenatal meetings, in addition to our initial consultation, to discuss how your pregnancy is going and what your intentions are for birth. I will work with you at this time to further discuss your journey and process of becoming parents.
• Access to me over the phone and via email. I will do my best to return calls and emails within 48 hours, usually much sooner.
• Support during your birthing time. During your birthing time, I will support you to the best of my abilities, helping you to create a positive, calm birthing environment, offering suggestions of position changes, using touch and massage, breath support, and, of course, support and guidance in utilizing your hypno-tools if you are using hypnosis for your birth! At this time, I will offer you immediate postpartum support and initial help with breastfeeding.
• Postpartum visit. I will visit you at least once within the first two weeks after your baby's birth to see how your new family is doing.
I look forward to supporting you in enjoying your baby's birth in comfort, joy and love!
