“Pam helped us labor at home and gave us the confidence to continue to do so. Without her support and knowledge we would have been at the hospital several hours sooner.” ~ Sommer |

Birth Doula and Childbirth Educator |
“So, so helpful. Supportive. Made great suggestions but also reinforced our suggestions. She definitely made all the difference in helping our patient deliver as she wanted to.” ~ Jules, CNM - West Side Women’s Care |
Pregnancy, labor and delivery are rich with opportunity for women to realize their power and their potential and it is during this very critical time that I seek to encourage and celebrate their journey of self-discovery. I encourage women to confidently trust their bodies, their babies and their births and for their partners to believe in and to wholeheartedly support them as they fully engage in this life-changing event.
I am committed to supporting the decisions of the expectant family and helping them to process technical knowledge as it relates to labor and delivery, prenatal and postpartum care in an appropriate and professional manner throughout the entire birthing process. I am certified and experienced in childbirth support as a Certified Doula with Doulas of North America (DONA) and as a Childbirth Educator with Academy of Childbirth Educators (ACBE). I meet with clients at least two times before labor to help them develop a birth plan and to develop a relationship that will lend itself to a great team effort during the actual labor and delivery. When my clients decide to have me join them in labor is at their discretion. Once we are together, I provide continuous physical, emotional and informational support to mothers and their partners. I consistently support my clients decisions and choices and encourage them to maintain prompt and clear communication with each other, the personnel of the healthcare facility they have chosen and myself. I advocate for my clients with intentional well-placed questions intended to aid the laboring mother and her primary support person to think clearly about benefits/risks, options, and the time frame with which any decisions need to be made.
I seek to promote the general health and well being of women, their children and their families. I’m in full support of DONA International’s vision of “a doula for every woman who wants one” and will offer my services at reduced rates or at no cost when possible.
I thoroughly enjoy encouraging parents-to-be and cheering them on as they embark on this significant leg of their life journey. It is a privilege to encourage and witness the bonding that takes place between the parents-to-be as they work together to bring their child into their world, their family and their hearts. My hope is that in some small way my service to my clients will result in them standing in awe of the amazing abilities of the female body, the absolute miracle of birth and the unimaginable depths of the love they have for one another and their new little one. I believe those in attendance at the birth encounter an undeniable realization that birth is a very holy and deserving-of-being-honored-time in the life of the family. It’s an honor to attend to a laboring and birthing woman; to encourage those who love her most and to support the new family in it’s earliest stages.
“Doulas are a valuable asset to physicians and nurses because our numerous other patient care responsibilities do not allow us to realistically spend the time we would like with a laboring couple. Fathers as well benefit from the emotional and compassionate support by enhancing his care and compassion for his laboring partner.” ~ James Yeash, D.O., with +1,000 deliveries – NewWest Physicians
“Immediately after having my baby I said that I couldn’t imagine having a baby without a doula. Even though I had an epidural. I still needed help focusing and staying calm. Pam helped immensely with this. It was also nice for my husband and parents because they knew I was well taken care of. I had exactly the birth I wanted and Pam was a big factor in that outcome. She helped with massage, aromatherapy, guided imagery, distraction and breathing. I was her number one concern and it helped me through a tough labor. I can’t say enough to praise her!” ~ Jennifer
