Penny and Ann are both DONA (Doulas of North America) certified Birth Doulas. Both are also CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association) certified childbirth educators and CAPPA certified lactation educators.
Penny and Ann have extensive experience supporting birthing families. They have broad experience supporting mothers with multiples, VBAC labor, high risk situations as well as attending unmedicated labors and births. They have experience in hospital and home birth environments.
Penny has been happily married for over 40 years and Ann has been happily married for over 30 years. Between them they have nine adult children and five grandchildren.
We are two Doulas who work as a team. Previous clients have found our unique Doula Team approach extremely beneficial. By utilizing our team approach, there is never a question about back-up as one or both of us will always be available for the birth experience. As some birth experiences can be long, we are also able to provide a “fresh face” and renewed energy by sharing a labor.
Another unique feature of our service is we provide a four hour prenatal/childbirth class tailored specifically to your needs. This class promotes reasonable expectations, emphasizes the need for flexibility during the birth process and will help the couple experience the joy of a “guiltless” labor and birth. This class replaces other traditional time consuming childbirth classes. We have found time spent during this class creates a special human connection or bond between the birthing parents and the Doula Team. This bond will be invaluable as we experience the birthing process together.
Our goal is to enhance a woman’s experience through emotional and physical support. Our only agenda is your happiness with your labor and birth experience. We also enjoy a mutually respectful relationship with hospital care providers.
