Birth Doulas

We are two doulas who work as a team. We have found it extremely beneficial to the birthing family to have two doulas. We both attend prenatal visits so we can get to know each women and her birthing partner. There is never a question about backup, as one or both of us are available for each birth. As some birth experiences can be long, we are also able to provide a "fresh face" and renewed energy by sharing a labor.

Our goals are to enhance the birthing woman's experience through emotional and physical support for the entire birthing family and to keep the birth partners fully involved and informed. As birthing doulas, we have a very open philosophy about childbirth. Our only agenda is your happines with your labor and birth experience. We also enjoy a mutually respectful relationship with hospital care providers.

Our fee includes one or two (as needed) comprehensive childbirth classes. Also included on request are sibling & grandparents orientation information. We provide a postpartum visit where we bring detailed notes from your labor and birth. In addition, we are both available for breastfeeding problem-solving and encouragement.

Between us we have 6 children and 4 grandchildren, two wonderful husbands and many years of marriage. We bring over 40 combined years of childbirth and childcare experience - this truly is our passion. Every birthing woman is unique and special. We enjoy all diversity in our work and believe that love makes a family.
