Birth Doula, Childbirth Educator

To begin, I want you to know I am always excited to hear about the upcoming birth of a baby and would love to be your Doula.  Supporting mothers and their husbands/partners during the childbirth process is always a joy and is also my passion.  I have been working with expectant and new mothers, as well as their supporting caregivers, since 1976.  During this time I have supported hundreds of mothers, their husbands, partners and family members through the always wonderful, always exciting childbirth birth process.

My Philosophy

Childbirth is one of life’s most profound, exciting and wonderful experiences.  I believe in emphasizing flexibility during the childbirth process and empowering a couple to experience the thrill of “guiltless” labor and birth.  I believe in keeping labor and birthing simple and embrace all choices.  I believe the birth experience is the beginning of a wonderful family journey.  As your Doula I will prepare you and your partner both intellectually and emotionally for the childbirth experience.  Our goal will be to work together to help assure your childbirth experience is both joyful and emotionally enriching.

As your doula I will provide the following:

~ I will be there for you and your husband or partner during this most exciting time
~ I will provide practical comfort measures, an objective viewpoint and informational support to you and your partner throughout your pregnancy, labor and childbirth.
~ I will assist you and your partner in carrying out your visions for your baby’s birth
~ I will work with you, your partner and the hospital clinical caregivers to help ensure your birth experience is as simple, predictable and as joyful as possible.

I am a certified Doula and certified childbirth educator, (CD, CLD, CCCE) I am a member of the Colorado Doula Association, and Doulas of North America.  One of my professional accomplishments was I helped write and implement the “Mentoring and Professional Development Program” for the Colorado Doulas Association.  As one of the more experienced Doulas in Colorado, I enjoy mentoring young Doulas into the profession.  As stated previously I have supported hundreds of mothers, their husbands, partners and families through the birth process.

I have been happily married for over 40 years and enjoy sharing my life with my husband Dennis, our four children and five grandchildren. 

In conclusion:  Working as a Doula is my life’s passion.  The role of supporting caregiver comes natural to me and helping a couple through the childbirth process is truly a life fulfilling experience for me.  As I said before, I would love to be your Doula.
