Postpartum Doula
I have great respect and admiration for the job of new parents. I enjoy lending nurturing care, gentle guidance, and supportive companionship to you and your precious babies. I believe that a newborn comes into this world with a very sure presence and an inherent wisdom. I approach these littlest of human beings with kindness and respect for the amazing work that they are doing.
I have a background in Montessori Education. My Infant and Toddler credential includes training in infant development, infant environment set up, observation skills, parent education, and Montessori approach to children age birth to three. I have many years of experience working with infants, young children and families, first as a toddler teacher at a Montessori preschool, then as a nanny, and now as a postpartum doula.
I am gentle, intuitive, reliable, nonjudgmental, positive, friendly, respectful, and understanding. As a postpartum doula I can offer help with, newborn care, breast feeding, house keeping and errand running, meal preparation (including vegetarian and vegan,) sibling care and adjustment, baby proofing and nursery set up, and a lot more. I can provide emotional support and encouragement during this truly exciting but also overwhelming and challenging time. I value the amazing task you have as a new parent. My hope is that the work I do in your home will help facilitate you being able to best take care of yourself, bond with your baby(ies,) care for your family, and feel confident, calm and secure.
